Background
Aria Delalune Holmes was raised in an unusual household. She was named 'Aria' after the opera whom her mother loved more than anything and 'Delalune' was because she was born in a full moon. Her mother was never in the picture really, given birth to her, her mother was ashamed at the fact that she had given birth to a hybrid. Her mother had two offspring already older than her, and she had become infatuated with a man that was not her husband.
During the breeding time, they migrated towards Alaska the time of the 30 days of nights, and she became impregnated. Her husband had been late to the meeting and was enraged by her infidelity. After giving birth, she gave her to the father who was now forced into the woes of parenthood. Her father was a detective in London, taking advantage of the now darkened skies. He always inquisitive about any crime in general, and always found a way to integrate himself in a crime whether it be an analyst or a journalistic piece. He was a good man, too brilliant for his own good it seemed. But he could never tell her what she needed to know, like her mother's name nor her siblings names.
Being a rogue came with a lot of hardships. For one thing, her father had separated himself from his old coven (Holmsian) and she was raised as close to a human as possible. But she never took interest in other humans, unless it came to figuring out why they did things. She feared having a craving for blood, and her father (being older than her) had connections in the doctor's and found himself giving her blood bags to consume what she needed. She thanked her father greatly and found herself not finding it as repulsive as needed. She liked human food, but her appetite was different. She was immediately deemed "the freak" and while it hurt she knew it could definitely be worse had she told them what she was.
Like her father she had an addictive personality. He found himself smoking cigarettes, while she found herself finding things that gave her pleasure. She began with the easiest thing to get: alcohol. She found herself disliking it because her coordination was impaired and the next day she found herself having massive headaches and having her spit up everything from her stomach. She then moved on towards cigarettes because of her father. She found out she liked the euphoric feeling, and did it for a few of her teen years until her father found out. Despite knowing how much of a hypocrite he was being, he forced her to quit. She found an alternate way of getting the rush through patches. Her favorite thing about humans was that they had drugs. She found herself wanting that rush that was faster, like a roller coaster. She would find her mind turning quiet and everything was a hazy and happy and soothing. She tried marijuana, then cocaine, sadly, she found herself twitching and scratching her skin. The one thing she never did was share needles, too messy and she didn't want to know the side-effects of sharing. Till this day she found herself having some marks in her arm from heroine use.
If anyone asks she says that the light dots were birthmarks. Once the integration between human beings and vampires occurred she found herself hating the Vatican. She was never into religion and especially not their rule, she found herself being one of the people still quiet. The only good thing that came from the Vatican was the library and her addictive personality changed to learning. Now, she finds herself finding cases, or trying to learn more about vampires. Considering she wasn't ever allowed to meet them as a child (and her father was far from normal), she's curious to meet more yet fearful.
She fears meeting her mother and her siblings, scared of being ostracized. Now she keeps to herself, and finds herself to be a bit protected from other people for fear of being called a "feak" once more, or even hurt physically. She doesn't really have friends and doesn't really yearn for them. She has her father till eternity, if they play their cards right.
